Baseball Recap: Aldine Gets the Win

While Aldine's win against Westfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Aldine sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Westfield on Tuesday. Aldine hasn't had any issues with Westfield recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Aldine got a great performance from Xavier Chavarria as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Chavarria has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Rodrigo Teran was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jesus Hiracheta was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Aldine's victory bumped their record up to 14-5-3. As for Westfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

Aldine will have a chance to go back-to-back against Westfield: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
