Football Recap: St. Anthony Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

St. Anthony had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Lakewood Lancers, falling 35-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Saints have suffered since September 6, 2024.

Kade Casillas went supernova For Lakewood., throwing for 340 yards and three TDs while picking up 14.2 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 122 yards and one score on only six carries. Casillas showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 66 yards. Darius Miller did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.

The victory got Lakewood back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Anthony will face off against Torrance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakewood, they will challenge Edison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
