Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-11 in the process. They lost 24-3 to the Fowlerville Gladiators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Thursday.

As for Fowlerville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-9. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Fowlerville's part, Travis Wroblewski made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wroblewski was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Fowlerville got a massive performance out of Ryan Perras, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. The Gladiators are undefeated when Perras posts two or more runs, but 1-9 otherwise. Braylon Charboneau was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Eastern will square off against St. Johns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fowlerville, they will be playing at home against Eaton Rapids at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
