Football Recap: Geneva Skates Past Halifax Academy with Ease

Geneva's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 45-0 victory over Halifax Academy. Geneva's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Luke Gilmartin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (163.2).

Geneva didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Willian Thigpen, Duke Carpenter, and Taylor Mitchell picked up one apiece. Carpenter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Geneva's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Halifax Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Geneva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Halifax Academy, they will challenge The Master's Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
