League recap: Bishop Gorman lifted by Gallo's performance at the plate

Joey Gallo was the hottest hitter in the league this week, racking up a .444 average, six home runs and 15 RBIs. Meanwhile, Bishop Gorman put together a 6-1 week.

Cody Roper was the best pitcher in the league this week. He won zero games and struck out 14 batters.

The Gaels boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. Bishop Gorman has given up a mere 199 hits on the year in addition to compiling 222 strikeouts. Roper is the leader in that category with 53 Ks on the season.

The Gaels' 67 hits this week were the most in the league, adding to their season total of 455, best of any team. Bishop Gorman, which sits in first place, is led by Gallo, who has accumulated 56 hits this season.



Johnny Sewald led the league with eight hits this week for the Gaels. His 51 hits for the year are third in the league, and he boasts a .429 batting average.
