Softball Recap: Liberty Falls Short Against Ranked Coronado

Liberty faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 12-5.

Ciana Cubi made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Danielle Luvanos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Liberty's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6-2. As for Coronado, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge Shadow Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Coronado, they will welcome Rancho at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
