Southeast Yosemite recap November 5, 2013

Tehachapi extended the longest winning streak in Southeast Yosemite this week by beating Foothill, 49-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Tehachapi took down the Trojans 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

East Bakersfield's dynamic duo of Blake Sherman and Malik Nichols proved tough for Garces to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sherman threw for 186 yards and 1 touchdown and Nichols had 147 yards receiving. Josh Alvarado helped East Bakersfield's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.

Sheldon Croney was a passing and rushing force as the Rams topped the Blades. Croney's key target this week was Dominic Frasch, who caught 3 passes for 76 yards.

Justyn Ridenour made the biggest impact on defense this week as East Bakersfield fell to Garces. The 6-foot-0 junior nabbed 1 interception.

Croney was a beast in the backfield as Jim Maples' team defeated Dave Thorp's team.

Garces' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Pavletich has thrown for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Frasch has 25 catches for 514 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Tehachapi takes on second place Garces. Steve Denman's team defeated Foothill last week, while the Rams bested the Blades.
