Basketball Recap: Elyria Catholic Panthers vs. North Olmsted Eagles

The Elyria Catholic Panthers came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on North Olmsted with a sharp 51-26 win. Elyria Catholic has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.

Isabelle Niederst continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Niederst is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lexi Rodriquez was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

North Olmsted struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Elyria Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for North Olmsted, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.
