Baseball Recap: Norristown Has No Trouble Against Academy Park

Norristown was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Academy Park on Tuesday. The Norristown Eagles were the clear victor by a 15-1 margin over the Academy Park Knights. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Gavin Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Nate Hagner was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Matt Leary was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Norristown now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Academy Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Norristown will face off against Upper Perkiomen at 4:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for Academy Park, they are taking a road trip to face off against Penn Wood at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
