Softball Recap: Juan Diego Catholic Comes Up Short

Juan Diego Catholic lost against Beaver back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle fell just short of the Beaver Beavers by a score of 9-7.

Olivia Jewkes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Avie Hernandez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Juan Diego Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaver only posted an OBP of .304.

Juan Diego Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Beaver, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Juan Diego Catholic will face off against Cedar Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Beaver, they will challenge Union at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
