Basketball Recap: Camden County Comes Up Short

Camden County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 68-58 to the Dougherty Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Trojans are ranked 96th).

Loss or not, Camden County got some senior leadership from Caleb Reed and Travis Herrin. Reed went 5 for 10 on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Herrin went 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of David Coleman, who posted five points and 11 rebounds.

Kaleke Jinks continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Dougherty, going 7 of 17 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Jawuan Jinks Jr was another key player, putting up 14 points and five boards.

Camden County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Dougherty, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.

Camden County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-51 loss against Lake Minneola on the 27th. As for Dougherty, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-55 defeat against Lee County on the 27th.
