Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Hornets vs. Van Buren Crusaders

Ashland and Van Buren are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Ashland Hornets will venture away from home to face off against the Van Buren Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ashland will head into Wednesday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 78-15 defeat at the hands of Katahdin. The Hornets have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Van Buren was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 61-12 loss at the hands of Wisdom.

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Van Buren, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Ashland came out on top in a nail-biter against Van Buren in their previous matchup on Friday, sneaking past 48-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ashland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
