Basketball Recap: Bluegrass United Takes a Loss

Bluegrass United came into this matchup off a tough 26-point loss on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Frederick W Warriors by a score of 37-34 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Bluehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 174th in Kentucky, while the Warriors are ranked 41st in Maryland).

Defeat or not, Bluegrass United got some senior leadership from Allie McGuire and Noe Gordon. McGuire posted 17 points and seven rebounds, while Gordon scored four points along with nine boards and four steals. Those nine rebounds gave Gordon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marty Gordon, who had three points and six boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Bluegrass United and nudges their season record down to 18-23. As for Frederick W, their victory bumped their record up to 22-2.
