Baseball Game Preview: Northeastern Eagles vs. TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers

The Northeastern Eagles will square off against the TEACH Homeschool Beach Breakers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northeastern has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 17.

Northeastern saw some tournament action on Monday. They came up short against Perquimans County, falling 16-6.

Peyton Paris made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, TEACH Homeschool won against Varsity Opponent last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Beach Breakers put the hurt on Norfolk Christian with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Beach Breakers haven't had any issues with the Ambassadors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Austin Brickhouse made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because TEACH Homeschool is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-6 otherwise. Brickhouse was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, TEACH Homeschool got a big performance out of Bryce Flynn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Flynn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Bianco, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

TEACH Homeschool's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Northeastern might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from TEACH Homeschool when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
