Basketball Game Preview: La Porte Bulldogs vs. Texas City Stingarees

The La Porte Bulldogs will take on the Texas City Stingarees at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in La Porte's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Texas City has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, La Porte didn't have quite enough to beat Friendswood and fell 71-69. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Mustangs are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, Texas City suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Iowa Colony and fell 86-43.

La Porte's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Texas City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-18.

La Porte was able to grind out a solid victory over Texas City when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 56-49. Does La Porte have another victory up their sleeve, or will Texas City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
