A Season-Best Performance from Boomer Hester Leads Charlestown over Corydon Central

Sadly, Boomer Hester posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Charlestown over Corydon Central on Friday. Hester rushed for 288 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards.

Hester and Charlestown will face off against Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hester will face off against Adam Mull, the Lions' star signal caller. So who wins this QB-duel? There's only one way to know for sure.

Landon Shuck Dazzles in Scottsburg Victory

Scottsburg picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Landon Shuck. Shuck was dynamite, rushing for 235 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry, and also picking up 40 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.

Mitchell had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Shuck it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Shuck saw the Bluejackets), he rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also caught a touchdown.

Carson Lawyer Turns in Another Game with at Least 150 Rushing Yards

Carson Lawyer continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 150 rushing yards. He rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run.

The victory was the third in a row for Corydon Central, bringing their record for this year to 3-4. Lawyer and Corydon Central will head out on the road to take on Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Waylon Doblado Makes It Two for Corydon Central

Another Corydon Central player making an appearance on this list is Waylon Doblado. He made seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass. The performance once again pushed his average receiving yardage north of 100 yards per game (110.9). He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards.
