The Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Oak Hill Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Woodrow Wilson barely beat Margaretta the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Flying Eagles put the hurt on the Polar Bears with a sharp 14-6 win on Friday. The Flying Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Gage Price made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Woodrow Wilson is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Price was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Tyler Wilhite was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. He has become a key player for Woodrow Wilson: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-5 otherwise. Drew Gallaher was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI.
Woodrow Wilson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oak Hill). They were the clear victors by a 21-8 margin over Midland Trail on Saturday. With that victory, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Owen Grose, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Richardson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
The win snapped Oak Hill's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-11 record. As for Woodrow Wilson, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Woodrow Wilson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Woodrow Wilson couldn't quite finish off Oak Hill when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Flying Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
