Softball Recap: McKinney Lions vs. Celina Bobcats

It was a proper cat-fight when McKinney faced off against Celina on Saturday. The McKinney Lions lost 13-7 to the Celina Bobcats. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adyson Gaddis was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Leyla Molina made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Abbi James, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

McKinney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14-1. As for Celina, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinney will challenge Princeton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Celina, they are taking a road trip to take on Legacy Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
