Basketball Recap: Mckinley Tech Takes Down Ranked DC International

On Friday, McKinley Tech faced DC International in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The McKinley Tech Trainers blew past the DC International Dragons 65-42. Fans of the Trainers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

McKinley Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was DaMontae Neclos out in front who posted 23 points and five rebounds. The game was Neclos' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keith Robertson, who earned 15 points.

When it comes to explaining why DC International lost, don't look at Gavin Moore. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 8 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Hegwood, who put up six points.

McKinley Tech pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.4 points per game. As for DC International, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

McKinley Tech wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-36 defeat against Cardozo on the 16th. As for DC International, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-41 win against E.L. Haynes on the 16th.
