Baseball Recap: Connellsville Beats Gateway for Their Third Straight Win

Connellsville extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 11-5 in the process. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Gateway Gators. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 last Monday.

Mason Miller looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grayden Gillott was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Zawislan, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Gateway, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the team, making it ten in a row.

On Gateway's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Roman Jennings, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Looking ahead, Connellsville will host South Allegheny at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gateway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
