Recap: Birmingham Patriots vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Birmingham Patriots had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by Cleveland on the road to the tune of 43-6. The result was nothing new for Birmingham, who have now won seven contests by 31 points or more so far this season.

Birmingham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ronnell Hewitt led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Peyton Waters did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Birmingham's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points per game. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Birmingham will look to defend their home field on Friday against Taft at 7:00 p.m. Taft will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 832nd, while Birmingham is ranked 163rd). As for Cleveland, they will head out on the road to face off against El Camino Real at 7:00 a.m. on Friday.
