Baseball Game Preview: Fredericksburg Billies vs. Lampasas Badgers

The Fredericksburg Billies will be taking part in a tournament against the Lampasas Badgers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Fredericksburg will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

If Fredericksburg beats Lampasas with seven runs on Saturday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Fredericksburg walked away with a 7-4 win over Gateway College Preparatory on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Sam Brewer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Hagen Jacoby was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, neither Lampasas nor Wimberley could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 4-4 draw.

Lampasas' draw makes their record 4-2-1 this season. As for Fredericksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Fredericksburg skirted past Lampasas 6-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Fredericksburg repeat their success, or does Lampasas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
