Basketball Recap: Thomas West's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Peck over Marlette

Peck was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 39-28 to the Marlette Red Raiders. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Raiders earlier this season, when they won 39-34.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas West, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds. West has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last four times he's played. Cal Heiden was another key player, going 5-for-12 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Peck's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Marlette, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.

Peck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marlette, they have already played their next game, a 38-34 loss against Kingston on the 28th.
