Basketball Recap: Sunnydale Academy Takes a Loss

Sunnydale Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 37-28 to the Mid-Missouri HomeSchool Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mid-Missouri HomeSchool this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 42-28 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mid-Missouri HomeSchool to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tara Marks, who posted ten points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Taylor Dorr, who earned six points along with nine boards and six steals.

Sunnydale Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13.

Sunnydale Academy and Mid-Missouri HomeSchool could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. Sunnydale Academy will challenge Mile High Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday down 289 places (483 vs. 194). Similarly, Mid-Missouri HomeSchool (ranked 401st) will meet North Missouri HomeSchool (ranked 197th) at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
