Baseball Recap: Citrus Valley Extends Winning Streak to Four

Citrus Valley entered their tilt with Cajon on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Cowboys by a score of 10-6. For the Blackhawks, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Cowboys walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Citrus Valley got a great performance from Nolan Tornberg as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Tornberg also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Blackhawks are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Robert Seeley was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Adrian Abarca was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Citrus Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cajon, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Citrus Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Redlands East Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cajon will take on rival Yucaipa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cowboys 3.6, the Thunderbirds 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
