Basketball Recap: Pope John Paul II Takes a Loss

Pope John Paul II was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 28-27 heartbreaker at the hands of the Quilcene Rangers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Pope John Paul II's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Quilcene, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Pope John Paul II will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Crosspoint Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Quilcene, they will welcome Summit Classical Christian School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
