Baseball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Langtree Charter Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They never let the Central Academy Cougars get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Easton Roschke made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Roschke was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, David Kusz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Langtree Charter Academy will take on North Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Academy, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Charlotte Latin at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
