Soccer Game Preview: Prairie vs. Cedar Falls

The Prairie Hawks will head out on the road to challenge the Cedar Falls Tigers on Wednesday. Prairie knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Cedar Falls likes a good challenge.

Prairie barely beat Jefferson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Prairie blew past Jefferson 4-1 on Tuesday. Prairie hasn't had any issues with Jefferson recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Cedar Falls' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against Ankeny Centennial, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Cedar Falls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Ankeny Centennial are ranked third).

Prairie pushed their record up to 8-3-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those four contests. As for Cedar Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-2.
