Baseball Recap: Washington Triumphs

Nine must be Washington's lucky number: they beat Foss with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Patriots walked away with a 9-5 win over the Falcons. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Jace Spencer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Washington is undefeated when Spencer posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jayson Chhom, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Washington and bumps their season record up to 3-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Foss, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Washington will venture away from home to take on Clover Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Foss, they will take on Orting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
