Alpaugh gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Maricopa Indians 14-12. For the Buffalos, this counts as revenge for the 22-20 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Alpaugh's defense and their five sacks. Maricopa's QB won't forget Andy Bernal anytime soon given he sacked him four times. Adrian Alfaro was another major factor on D, making 20 total tackles.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alpaugh will challenge East Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maricopa, they will face off against Lucerne Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
