Spanish Fort came tearing into Saturday's match with seven straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the McAdory Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Toros also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Olivia Downey paced Spanish Fort's offense, picking up six kills. Downey got some help from Cailyn Boykin and her 18 assists. Downey also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Victoria Holley, racking up three apiece.

Spanish Fort's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for McAdory, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Spanish Fort wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Homewood on the 23rd. As for McAdory, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Calera at 5:30 p.m. on September 4.
