Baseball Recap: Chaparral Wins Going Away Against Ellison

Chaparral came out on top against Ellison on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 9-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Geno Ybarra and David Lavalle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ybarra didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Lavalle tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Ybarra went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Lavalle went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Cole Steinrich was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Blake Belliveau also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Chaparral's record is now 14-12-2. As for Ellison, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.

As of now, neither Chaparral nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
