Football Recap: Brody Echoles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Houston over Winona

Houston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 35-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winona Tigers. On the bright side, the 22- point performance marked the Hilltoppers' highest-scoring game to date.

Houston lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brody Echoles, who threw for 200 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 55 yards. Houston's leading receiver Braylin Rogers was Echoles' top target yet again, picking up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Winona, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston will head out to square off against New Hope at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Winona, they will venture away from home to challenge Amanda Elzy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
