Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Redhawks vs. Independence Knights

The Liberty Redhawks will face off against the Independence Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Liberty took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Highland Park 44-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Redhawks have posted since November 14, 2023.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). They claimed a resounding 95-23 victory over Corsicana. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Independence moved to 10-11 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 13-8.

Liberty barely slipped by Independence in their previous matchup back in February, winning 44-43. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Independence have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
