Recap: Lake Creek Lions vs. Cypress Lakes Spartans
The Lake Creek Lions entered their tilt with the Cypress Lakes Spartans with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lake Creek managed a 61-55 victory over Cypress Lakes on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Spartans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniah Alexis, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 12 rebounds. Alexis scored a full 63.6% of Cypress Lakes' points, the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Makennah Alexis was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Lake Creek pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Cypress Lakes, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.
Lake Creek will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against King at 6:30 p.m. King presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Creek in Texas (King is ranked 13th, while Lake Creek is ranked 200th). Cypress Lakes will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
