Football Recap: Brazoswood Comes Up Short

After soaring to 55 points the game before, Brazoswood was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 45-3 loss at the hands of the Clear Falls Knights. The contest marked the Buccaneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Phillips Noah threw for 37 yards on nine of 20 attempts. On the ground, Julian Diaz rushed for 48 yards.

A big part of Clear Falls' victory came down to the chemistry between Kyden Barker and his top target Zach Greer. Barker threw for 353 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per attempt while Greer picked up 171 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Greer is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 129 every time he's taken the field this season. Ocean Chapa was in the mix too, providing Clear Falls with two TDs.

Brazoswood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Clear Falls, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Brazoswood will head out to challenge Clear Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clear Falls, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Clear Creek at 7:00 p.m. The Knights will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.6 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
