Volleyball Recap: Pike Valley Panthers vs. Wakefield Bombers

Pike Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wakefield Bombers. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bombers 25-18 in the first set.

Pike Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Kylie Loring paced Pike Valley's offense, picking up six kills. Loring got some help from Kinely Cooper and her 12 assists. Elise Lieb controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Pike Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Wakefield, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12-1.

Pike Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Republic County on the 27th. As for Wakefield, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bennington on the 27th.
