Baseball Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence lost against Maryvale back in March of 2015, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Independence Patriots came up short against the Maryvale Panthers, falling 19-6. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Maryvale, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-3.

Coming up, Independence will challenge Browne at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Independence has given up an average of 7.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Maryvale, they will square off against Cibola at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Maryvale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
