The Fletcher Senators will head out on the road to face off against the Ponte Vedra Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fletcher is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Fletcher took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Bishop Kenny out 2-1.
Fletcher got a great performance from Bruce Neel as he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk).

On the hitting side, Jakeb McDougall was incredible, going a perfect5-for-5 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in doubles.
Fletcher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra didn't have quite enough to beat Providence School on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now lost six in a row.
Ponte Vedra also got a good showing from Dylan McAdoo, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Ponte Vedra saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Storm Lickliter, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Cole Rambler was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Ponte Vedra now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fletcher, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fletcher has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ponte Vedra struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Fletcher came up short against Ponte Vedra in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 7-3. Can Fletcher avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
