Softball Recap: Mohawk Has No Trouble Against Crow

Mohawk was forced to take a big loss against Crow on Monday, they got the better of them on Monday. The Mustangs blew past the Cougars 18-7. Considering the Mustangs have won three games by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Maya Chanley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Chanley was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Chanley is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Mohawk got a massive performance out of Miley Sherman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Sherman is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Addison Barrowcliff was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs.

Mohawk lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Mohawk's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Crow, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Mohawk will venture away from home to face off against Santiam at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crow, they will face off against Chemawa Indian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
