Softball Recap: Taft Toreadors vs. Chatsworth Chancellors

Taft fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chatsworth on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chancellors by a score of 5-4. The Toreadors' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Chiara Cioffi put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 8.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 12 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Katelyn Levine made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Kimi Meneses also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Chatsworth, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.
