Soccer Game Preview: Denver West vs. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART

The Denver West Cowboys will challenge the Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver West's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Denver West and Kennedy have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. The Cowboys skirted past the Commanders 3-2. The win continues a trend for Denver West in their matchups with Kennedy: they've now won three in a row.

Amir Gemeda and Manuel Luna scored all three of Denver West's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain Prep SMART hasn't lost a match since September 2nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Montbello a 1-0 shutout.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's victory bumped their record up to 6-1-2. As for Denver West, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Denver West came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cowboys since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
