Volleyball Recap: Sequoyah Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with River Ridge + How To Watch

Sequoyah faced River Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Chiefs came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Chiefs couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: River Ridge scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Sequoyah still got an impressive performance from Jessica White, who had 20 digs and two assists. White is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Sequoyah's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-3. As for River Ridge, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-6.

Sequoyah and River Ridge will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Chiefs see the court they'll take on Pope at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th. As for River Ridge, their break will end when they face Riverwood at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
