Basketball Recap: Fulton Leadership Academy Gryphons vs. Arlington Christian
This season hasn't been kind to the Fulton Leadership Academy Gryphons, who are still winless after their eighth game. They were outmatched by Arlington Christian on the road and fell 80-20. Fulton Leadership Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-9.
Arlington Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rico Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Chezi Essel, who scored seven points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
Fulton Leadership Academy dropped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Arlington Christian, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
