Softball Recap: Hanks Triumphs

After only one run in their last game, Hanks made sure to put some runs up on the board against Gadsden on Thursday. The Hanks Knights blew past the Gadsden Panthers 12-5. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Amberly Mercado was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. What's more, she also posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Young, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Hanks' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.

Coincidentally, Hanks and Gadsden will both be playing Franklin the next time they take the field. Hanks will head out to face Franklin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while Gadsden will play them later in the day, at 2:15 p.m.
