Basketball Game Preview: Lamar Vikings vs. Grand Prairie Gophers

Lamar hasn't had much luck against Grand Prairie recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lamar Vikings will head out to take on the Grand Prairie Gophers at 7:30 p.m. Lamar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lamar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 90-83 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bowie on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Volunteers are ranked 160th).

Meanwhile, Grand Prairie waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 57-45.

Grand Prairie's victory bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-23.

Things could have been worse for Lamar, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-48 loss to Grand Prairie in their previous matchup back in January. Can Lamar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
