Basketball Recap: STX Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday STX proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool with a sharp 58-33 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Saints' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1086th in Texas, while Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool are ranked 164th in Louisiana).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead STX to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucian Lopez, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. Lopez has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caedmon Williams, who scored 12 points.

STX pushed their record up to 26-15 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points over those games. As for Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-10.

As of now, neither STX nor Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool have any future games scheduled.
