Westerly strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the North Smithfield Northmen. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Westerly not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept North Smithfield between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.

Lyla Auth paced Westerly's offense, picking up 15 kills. Auth got some help from Alison Maranda and her 15 assists. Maranda was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Westerly's win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Westerly and North Smithfield will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Bulldogs see the court they'll take on Prout at 6:00 p.m. on October 6. As for North Smithfield, their break will end when they face Barrington at 6:00 p.m. on October 22.
