Football Recap: Mcneil Comes Up Short on the Road Against Weiss + How To Watch

McNeil had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Weiss Wolves 56-28. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Wolves are ranked 68th).

Despite the loss, McNeil had strong showings from Jarell Gary Jr, who gained 120 total yards and a touchdown, and Zach Christie, who gained 106 total yards and a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McNeil will welcome Lake Belton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Weiss, they will be playing at home against San Marcos at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
