Preview: O'Neill Eagles vs. Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays
O'Neill is 8-2 against the Bluejays since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The O'Neill Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for O'Neill, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 63-49 loss to the Knights.
Drew Morrow put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 34 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 69.4% of O'Neill's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Eichelberger, who scored three points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Guardian Angels Central Catholic suffered a tough 63-43 defeat at the hands of the Blue Devils on Tuesday. Guardian Angels Central Catholic has struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
O'Neill's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Guardian Angels Central Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
O'Neill didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Bluejays when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win. Does O'Neill have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluejays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
